A night out with my Punkin'

I don't have any pictures, I wasn't sure if I would be allowed so there are no picutes posted.

So, Rich and I have not been without our children for 4 long years and my brother offered to watch them for a night so we could go out and we DID!!!
We bought tickets to Jason Mraz and The Dave Mathews Band for last Friday and what a GREAT concert. Dave Mathews was on stage for 2 and a half hours. And what a deverse (sp) group of people that were there.......I like to people watch and that was sure the place. The concert was in Vegas so that is all I have to say....... it is so funny how acustomed (sp) I have gotten to Utah and the "way" of life in such a short time. People here don't wear tank tops or short shorts, if the wear a tank top there is ALWAYS a shirt underneath. Funny, I know, my friend and I laugh but that is just the way it is here. And short shorts no way!!! Only if you are 16 and under!!!

I have to say being in Vegas (home) to me is bitter sweet. I love going home but the city has changed a bit and it is way faster pace there. You can always tell a person from Vegas here because they drive way fast and weaving in and out of traffic. Rich and I both know because we were both pulled over a couple of times when we first moved here....

So, back to our night off, a friend of my brothers got us a great deal at the Palazo Hotel and what a nice hotel!!! Thanks Mike!!! And Rich surprised me and upgraded to a suite!!! Way nice!!!

Then off to a Sushi place in the hotel, Rich loved it, I though it was OK. But.....it wasn't Utah food!!!LOL

Then the concert, it was fantastic, when he comes to Vegas again I will totally go.

We didn't get spend much time at the hotel but it was nice to sleep in a bit and it was quiet!!!

It was hard going back to pick up the kids because I wanted a little bit more time with Rich so my brother said since the kids were so easy to watch we could take a couple of days again and they would watch the kids again.

Don't think I am not going to take him up on that!!!

Thanks Andy and Bridget you two are the best!!!

Rich and I were talking and I thinking of where we are going to go but I think we will stay in Vegas again. It was fun to play tourists and take a taxi (which I have never done in Vegas) so we have a few touristy things we would like to do there next time.

Then last night we took the kids to a monster truck rally......oh my gosh talk about redneck!!! It was so funny!!! There were four trucks and they were pretty old and all but one broke!!! And then anyone who wanted to race their own car and jump it could.............so just imagine a guy in a Suzuki SideKick with a plaid shirt on jumping his car!!!! Rich was curious if this guys wife knew his husband had the car there!!! LOL LOL And Rich thought we probably lost a few IQ points by being there!!! It really was fun!!! Lane liked it but not the noise. We did see a guy on a motorcycle do a back flip!!! That was awesome.

I hope everyone has a Great Mothers Day. With lots of rest and pampering!!

much love, Sherrie

Lane turned 5 last week!!

Look at that 5 year old face!!!! We had a very busy day, first a number 5 pizza at (my favorite) pizza place.

Well, this was first PRESENTS!!! He asked so nicely "When do I get my presents?" all day.....

check out that new motorcycle/mini skatebaord ramp!!!
And the BEST of all a new bike!!! Lane is still trying to get the hang of it. It is a bit bigger than his last one, he goes too slow when he turns around so what do you think happens.......yup, he falls so it took a few days for him to get back on.

Then there was Jumpin' Jacks............these great big blown up jumpy things......and we ALL jumped, climbed and slid.......
here is a nice little competitive race......

I really wasn't going to show this lovely picture of me climbing this slide but here it is (again, I just asked Rich to "hold" my camera).........

Ellie was a boxing fool with these things...

Ok, this day I am not going to win the mother of the year award because we were so busy I forgot to ice the cake!!! So, we went and picked out cupcakes (again at my favorite place) and let Lane pick out whatever he wanted (yellow cake with fresh raspberry frosting, my fav too)

So as you can tell 5 is going to be a great year for Mister Lane.

He has a new bike, a ramp for his toys and he is starting Kindergarten what else could a 5 year old boy want!!!

Much love,Sherrie

Sit down and grab a soda this is LONG!!!!

Well, of course its been a while once again......so this is what we have been up to.....here are some Easter shots.......

Every year since we have been here our neighborhood puts on an Easter Egg Hunt, well this year it got divided between two neighborhoods (small town drama), the kids love it and so does Rich it is so funny to watch all the neighborhood children hunt for eggs. It was so cold and raining that morning but if you know my kids they will do anything for a little bit of candy!!

Check out Ellie's loot......

Lisa's loot............she was way cold....

Lane's loot......

As you can tell Alan is not on any of these pictures .....well......he's too cool for an Easter egg hunt. He was chatting with friends.............(red sweat shirt)

Here is my good friend, our Relief Society President, not wanting her picture taken!!! ( Cherise, I'll get ya when you least expect it....maybe the gym!!!)

Here are a few pictures of us coloring Easter eggs....

Do you remember when you were little and you HAD to wait for the dye to color your egg and it took FOREVER!!!

It is was so hard for Lane to wait for the eggs to dye he wanted to color all of them. When you have three other siblings fighting over eggs........it was a long night!!!

I am not quite sure what Lisa was making.......

Ok, if you know my mom she LOVES her grand kids!!! Well, she bought them a Williams and Sonoma Easter egg coloring kit..... and it came with GLITTER!!! If you know me I HATE glitter!!! Let me tell you, I am STILL finding glitter!! Thanks MOM!!!!

The kids lived it though, look at Alan, so very serious decorating eggs........yes, that is glitter in his hands.....

And look at the masterpiece Rich surprised me with!!!! Ahhhhh!!!! See why I love him!!

I can't forget Miss Ellie look at her work of art..and the reason they all have wet hair is because once again we bribed them to hurry so we can color eggs and dessert IF they hurry and shower!! And it worked!!!

These are picutes from a rock climbing park we go to all the time....

My kids like to try and catch tad poles, I am not sure I like this but they have fun...

This is Enterprise (far away) Rich needed to do a little scouting for turkey so we went and did a little off-roading and check out this view!!!

He didn't see, or hear any signs

We saw a few deer and then I saw this......

This is the biggest lizard I have ever seen. Lane wanted me to catch it but I do not touch any thing with four legs and a tail that long!!! eek!!!!

Oh and Rich's cell phone still worked on the mountain!!! I can't stand that thing!!!!

Now here is the best thing .........

Lane started T-ball!!!!

He has the best coach. He is or neighbor and friend.

I am not sure what I did with the coloring with my camera but, sorry........it was so bright out I thought I had it right.......not!!

Alright I will let you take a brake and I will post more later I have sat here way too long and I am off to Vegas!!!

much love, Sherrie

The other man in my life......

Do you know who this is?????...........................

same man........................
I think he is looking at ME!!!!! (wink)

Now do you know??????

Do you know???
well.....................it's America's National Romantic Music Sensation!!!! (his words not mine) lol
IT'S JIM BRICKMAN!!!!!
I have seen him 4 times now I LOVE his music!!! Rich was supposed to go with me but I went with a friend instead (Rich was VERY thankful she went) (wink)
He is so cute and funny and he has just GREAT music. It was an outside theater and started to sprinkle and a little chilly but the night was perfect especially with the mountains in the background. (Rich you would have liked it)
So, I am a BrickHead!!!
Yup, I will admit it I am a BrickHead!!!
My man Jim is always there for me, if I need a cry a long hot bubble bath or just to relax he is there. So who wouldn't want him as ....................the other man in your life.
So IF you haven't heard him, you should, he is fantastic!!! Oh and tell him I sent you (wink).
Much love, Sherrie

A day at the fire station............

Well, it was a very nice Promotion Ceremony and since Rich was forced to work overtime that day the kids and I took dinner and spent some time at the fire station. Rich got to take Alan and Ellie from the ceremony to the fire station in the fire truck with the "guys" I wish I had a picture of that it was priceless. They both had headphones on and looked very serious like they were going on a call.

Rich took the kids on a little drive around the block and I had the wrong lense on to capture all of them in the truck. This truck is the one that has a big bucket on front, it's huge. You can kind of see Lisa in the back window. Ellie got lucky and got the front! I am not sure how that happened!! LOL

I HAD to take a pic of this, I had the scooter in the back of the truck so Lane was scooting away in the garage. LOL

Rich sitting in the driving seat!!! (so sorry about the lighting in these pictures I am STILL practicing!!)

Miss Ellie posing!!! (wink)

If you knew my husband, he is ALWAYS leaning or looking for a seat, he is NOT a standing kind of guy so I got a quick shot of him leaning.....

twice..........................

Lane was just a little excited to climb all over the fire truck!!! Does it show? LOL

The little ones...............

The big ones (thats what Rich and I call the two and two)

Alan NOT wanting his picture taken.

We had such a nice day it was hard saying goodbye for another day.(he is working three 24 hour shifts in a row)
I even got to pin Rich's new badge on him at the ceremony!!! I am hoping for a picture to post.
If anyone wants a tour let me know, I can hook you up! (wink)
Much love,Sherrie
