Some more projects!!!

We have had so many projects to work on, I am having so much fun (Rich not so much...)

I bought this at Habitat for Humanity for $4.oo. I didn't get a before picture something happened to my camera and it wouldn't turn on (yes, the batterys were fine). The middle piece is wood and it was pretty tattered but look what I did to it....

I know nice huh??? If I must say so myself. ;)

This is a foot stool I bought at a yard sale for a dollar and once I started taking it apart the wood was falling apart so I just used the legs and turned it into this........it matches my chair.

Then I was at Joann's and found this material and HAD to have it but is was a little expensive and I forgot my coupon so I kept walking. But.....then I walked by the remnant cart and I found a piece that had something on it and I got it dirt cheap so I made a pillow. I like animal prints but a little goes a long way so I have just a couple of things here and there.

Here is a 1927 Bosch Radio we got off Craigslist. I have to say this is NOW my favorite!!! (for now)Here is a close up of the shabby chic I did, with the Toile material behind the speaker.

Here is the $5.00 fireplace from a yard sale. Rich painted this and I shabby chic'd it.

And I just bought that beauty of a picture above the fireplace. I have been eyeing it for a year and a half and I just happened to go back to the store and it was the last on and it was half off!!!

WHOOOO HOOOOO!!!!

I made this pillow for Ellie's room. I found these place mats at Pier one last year for a dollar each and I wasn't sure what to do with them so I made her a pillow for her bed. It matches her bed spread. Her bedspread has vintage little girl dresses on it. I am in the process of making something similar with those REALLY inexpensive valences I found at Lowes a couple of posts back. What till I post that!!!

This is the pillow on her bed....

This is a mirror I got for her room at the DI for $1.50. I painted it and now she has a mirror for her room, she was very excited!!!

We went for a little drive a few weeks ago and when we got that sideboard I got this too....

This is sitting outside my front door just waiting for visitors (hint, hint!!)

Lane's room is done in a firefighter theme so Rich brought home this old turn-out jacket and I hung it up here. He built these shelves, they are ladders and they are both sides of Lanes's room .Too cute huh? Ok so that's what we have been up to. Well, I have been helping out in Lane's class room. Taking Alan back and forth to football and his team is doing great!!! And I have been keeping Rich very busy!! (as you can tell!!) I have to, while I have him at home for a little while. But the house is looking pretty good.

We are still waiting for some visitors. I have a cozy guest room!!!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Look what we have been up to....

Well here I go......

Alan started football and it has been a love, hate thing. He likes it and he doesn't......he likes playing and learning new things and the kids on the team are nice but......he is missing playing with friends, boy scouts and just everyday "stuff". I feel bad for him because it is a huge commitment but we are making him a stronger young man. (I hope)
Check out that push up!!!!!He has had some grulling practices with 2 hours 5 days a week for the first 2 weeks and now 2 hours, 3 days a week and it being over a hundred!!!

This was Midnight Madness...(He's in all white on the left)

This is after Midnight Madness. Tired and hot and dirty!!!

This was ascrimmage the other day and they kicked butt....(Alan on the left again)

This was his first game Saturday..The only way I ever know who he is is by his shoes.....they don't have their jerseys yet....

I am sure the coach was telling him to hold on ,I will put you in .....Alan told me he kept asking him.....I gave him a few pointers for next time to let him play more,we'll see if it works.. ;)

Here is Alan croutched down in the middle of this picture. Does he look professional or what!!! ;)

We went camping over Labor day

Rich trying to relax before the kids realize the hammock is up...

Who do you think was the first one to discover him but.........Lane and he would NOT stop pushing Rich. So here is Rich trying to ever so nicely tell Lane to STOP pushing him.

Ok here is where the day went a little crazy............ Ellie fell in the stream.

Alan threw something at Lisa.......

Thats Lisa giving Alan a dirty look....

So then Lisa throws a stick at Alan thinking he would move down,he didn't..................

she hits him in the lip with the stick

He has swollen top lip in this picture

So Lisa gets a time out....

eww..she hates it when I take a picture when she is pouting!!! LOL

Mean while Lane won't be quiet and he gets sent over to Rich who is TRYING to make dinner.

Then there's Ellie....hmmmm taking it all in giggling because she has the hammock all by herself and doesn't have to share. All this happened in about 5 minutes.

Then there was I'm sorry.....to the wrong person but, there was an "I'm sorry"

Ellie didn't have any camping shoes so off to Walmart we went and Ellie just HAD to have these shoes. I know, not so cute, but for $9.00 she was so happy.

Too bad I didn't get a picture of before they were filthy!!!

we finally got "the chair" done this is before, before...I almost forgot to take a before picture so a bit of the material is off,opps..

This is after it is painted...This is 'Thank goodness it is done!!!"

It is going to be a while before I can get help from Rich for another project like this one ;(

I think it came out pretty good, just don't look to close ,LOL

Do you remember this.....

Now it looks like this at the end of my bed!! I love it, it didn't take me too long to get this done. But boy did my fingers hurt from taking out all that tufting.

We took a little road trip to Kanab and bought this sideboard off Craigslist. I totally forgot to take a before picture so here is the after. Rich took off the doors on the sides so I am going to put some cute baskets in the openings. What do you think? This is going to go in my craft room. I love this piece. Here is close up of it "shabby chic'd" cute huh?Well, as usually you can tell we are busy. Rich is at work the next few days recooperating!! LOL

More re-do's......

Here are a couple more things we have been working on....

This is a magazine rack I bought at an estate sale. I paid a little too much.....$12.00 Whoo Hoo

I LOVE this.

This is before..... (I already started sanding, oops)

AFTER!!!!! Cute huh??

I have to say this one is my FAVORITE!! I got this at the DI for a whole $5.00!!! And I got the paint for free in the mail from Gliddon a few weeks ago.

This is before.......

This is AFTER!!! AHHHHH

Now the fun part I get to ACCESSORIZE!!! Hmmm what to put on this???? LOL

This is a bookcase that Rich made me. He made this for me, my first birthday we were together.
It used to have hearts on the top but he took out the top piece and replaced it with this
whoopty-do top. And painted it. Then this chair..................I am very afraid of this chair. (I got it off craigslist)I took off all the fabric and padding and now I am not so sure what to do.... I do have some cute fabric but....that is as far as I have gotten. My plans are to work on this, this week so HOPEFULLY expect a blog about "the chair".

This is the best deal! I bought this Lego table for a dollar!!! Can you believe it!!?? The leg was broken and Rich asked how much (at a yard sale) and she said a dollar and he said SOLD!! Lane LOVES his new table,as a matter of fact he asked me before school yesterday if we could go yard saleing because he needs more toys..... LOL

Then my other GREAT deal .I got this a couple of months ago and I LOVE this piece too. I just need to find just the right material. I have been to the store twice and can't seem to find what I want. I find A LOT of what I want. So it is sitting until I can figure out what I want and I am a little afraid of this one too because I want to tuft it but I am not so sure how, so if you have any suggestions, just hollar. Ohh and the best part it was only $3.00. Well, it WAS $6.00 but the lady at DI said that they price things too high in the back and said she is ONLY charging me $3.00. man I like her, every time I am there now I go to her register.(wink)

So this is what I have been up to,just wanted to share.

Oh and the kids are great!!! Everyone loves their new teachers and school. We FINALLY are going to have a good school year since moving to Utah!!!

much love

Look what I have been doing............

The last week and a half I have gone to some yard sales and an estate sale and Habitat for Humanity and look at some of my GREAT deals...
The little pillow and the doiles and the silver tray are from an estate sale and I got this super cute magazine rack (that is being worked on) all for $18 (oops, the book was at a different yard sale and is was a gift to someone in 1928...)

These way cute patterns were a dollar and I can't wait to start making somethingThis ruler is from Habitat for Humanity and I have wanted one of these for a long time and I got it for .50 cents whoo hooo!!

Well this is the best!!!!I was at Lowe's with Rich and look what I picked up for .37 cents, well I got 4 of them...yup, valences for Ellie's room. I am making tea right now to tea die them to make them a little more shabby chic!!!

If you have a Lowe's by you I would RUN over there now they also have the panels for .64 cents and they come in pink, blue, green, purple and a tan/toupe pair of panels with a slight ruffle at the top with brown buttons way cute!!! I couldn't believe it!!

We are in the process of fixing up the basement a little bit and making some changes. So expect some more pictures soon. I bought the cutest round two tier coffee table at the DI for $5 dollars that I have been wanting for a LONG time and now I have one. It is so hot that we are waiting a while before we paint it and Rich is a little busy so I am trying really hard to be patient and wait....(wish me luck).

I just wanted to show off my little bargains. It is so fun to get a deal and transform them.

much love
